President Obama to speak at AP lunch during ASNE Convention

President Barack Obama will make a return visit to the ASNE convention this year, giving the keynote address at the AP Luncheon on Tuesday, April 3. Obama spoke at the same lunch four years ago when he was a candidate for president. With his appearance at this year's convention, Obama joins every sitting president since Calvin Coolidge in addressing an ASNE audience.
President Barack Obama will make a return visit to the ASNE convention this year, giving the keynote address at the AP Luncheon on Tuesday, April 3. Obama spoke at the same lunch four years ago when he was a candidate for president. His appearance at this year's convention will maintain ASNE's record of having an audience with every sitting U.S. President since Calvin Coolidge.
Tickets to both the Tuesday, April 3 and Wednesday, April 4 lunches have sold out to early convention registrants. However, ASNE is attempting to secure more seats. If you haven't signed up yet and would like to be put on a wait list to purchase tickets, please contact ASNE at asne@asne.org. Security permitting, there will also be a seating area in the balcony section of the ballroom where ASNE registrants without lunch tickets will be able to watch the speakers.
The ASNE room block at the Marriott Wardman Park hotel expires tomorrow, Thursday, March 22, so this is your last chance to get rooms at the reduced $219 rate. Those who register for the convention after Thursday may still be able to get rooms at the hotel, but the rate may be higher. If rooms at the hotel sell out, please note that the Marriott Wardman Park is conveniently located near the Woodley Park/Zoo metro stop, with easy access to rest of the D.C. area.
