Financial reform package delays disclosure of Federal Reserve assistance to banks


The financial reform package agreed to by House and Senate negotiators would require the Federal Reserve to release information to the public about loans and other assistance to banks, but it will allow the Fed to delay disclosure of this information for up to two years. ASNE and its partners in the Sunshine in Government Initiative believe this provision will prevent meaningful oversight of how the Fed assists banks and other financial institutions.
