ASNE workshop at #IRE18: How to Lead Investigations, Nurture Growth, Deliver Excellence

How do you foster a culture of excellence for your investigative team and your entire news operation? How do you choose where to devote your limited resources to ensure you're working on the most important and impactful stories?

How do you encourage an entrepreneurial spirit to serve people in new ways and grow your audience? How do you find the evidence you need to prove stories beyond a reasonable doubt and dramatically boost their impact? How do you ensure you're investigating matters of greatest importance to all the audiences you serve?

Many of America's top news leaders will explain their processes and answer questions at the American Society of News Editors' one-day leadership workshop Wednesday, June 13, in advance of the 2018 Investigative Reporters and Editors Conference in Orlando, Florida.

The workshop, which will be held one day prior to the IRE Conference at the Renaissance Orlando at SeaWorld, is for reporters, project editors, news directors and top editors to learn what it takes to create an investigative culture, lead high-impact investigative projects and teams, encourage creative new ways to reach and serve their communities, and help their teams boost their entire operation's audience and engagement. The workshop is sponsored by a generous grant from Google.

Workshop presenters include industry leaders Marty Baron, executive editor of The Washington Post, and Mike Klingensmith, publisher and CEO of the Minneapolis Star Tribune. There will also be Pulitzer Prize- and Peabody Award-winning reporters, editors and news directors, as well as top journalists from many of our most respected legacy broadcast, print and multimedia news operations.

Come learn how to lift your team to new heights from the most successful leaders in news today. A tentative schedule is available here
