We have compiled five important things you need to know about before attending the ASNE-APME conference Oct. 16-18 at Stanford University.
The 2015 ASNE-APME conference kicks off in 7 days! Here are five things you need to know.
1. Program schedule
The weekend's outstanding programming was planned and organized by ASNE Stanford Conference Program Committee Chair Robyn Tomlin, managing editor of The Dallas Morning News, and APME Journalism Studies Chair Jim Simon, deputy managing editor of The Seattle Times. Here are just some of the sessions you don't want to miss!

9:15 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 17
We kick off the conference by laying out the landscape for how news organizations are reaching/engaging audiences now. What's working? What isn't? How can we do a better job of reaching diverse groups of people in our communities? What does the future have in store?
4:15 to 5:15 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17
The Earth is 10,000 years old. Vaccinations cause autism. Global warming isn't happening. Science would say otherwise to all of these, yet millions of Americans aren't believing what science has proved. Why? Experts discuss today's "war on science" and what journalists need to know about it.
8:30 to 9:15 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 18
Are there lessons for newsrooms from Silicon Valley's entrepreneurial culture? Listen to three John S. Knight Journalism Fellows tell the stories of their journalism startup experiences in Silicon Valley.
11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 18
Digital Showcase features innovative startups, organizations and individuals providing research, consulting, software and other services to transform newsrooms through digital storytelling, culture change and audience engagement.
2. Getting from the airport to the hotel
The Sheraton Palo Alto is at 625 El Camino Real, Palo Alto, California 94301.
From Norman Y. Mineta San Jose International Airport (SJC)
CaltrainAt San Jose Municipal Airport, the Terminal A VTA #10 bus stop is located on the departure side between Terminal A and the International arrivals building. Take this shuttle bus from the airport to the Railroad Avenue/Santa Clara Caltrain Station (aka Caltrain). Then take Caltrain north from Santa Clara Station to the Palo Alto Station, located one block from the hotel.
DrivingTake Highway 101 North and exit onto Embarcadero Road West. Proceed approximately two miles and turn right onto El Camino Real. The hotel is located three blocks down and on the right side.
From San Francisco International Airport (SFO)
CaltrainFrom San Francisco International Airport, take BART to the Millbrae Station. Then take Caltrain south to the Palo Alto Station, located one block from the hotel.
Driving
Take Highway 101 South and exit onto Embarcadero Road West. Proceed approximately two miles and turn right onto El Camino Real. The hotel is located three blocks down on the right side.

Campus dining locations are closed on weekends, but luckily we've got some great lunch programming planned! Click here to purchase lunch tickets if you haven't yet!
