The website offers weekly and monthly journalism contests for secondary-school students and information to encourage students to choose journalism as a career.  SchoolJournalism.org also features resources for teachers, including a "News Literacy Corner" with weekly updates emphasizing the importance of teaching news literacy. News literacy is the ability to use critical thinking skills to judge the reliability and credibility of news reports and information sources and differentiate among facts, opinions, assertions and infotainment.
