One week remaining for nominations for McGruder Diversity Leadership Awards

Two awards will be presented to individuals, newsrooms or teams of journalists who embody the spirit of the late Robert G. McGruder, the former executive editor of the Detroit Free Press and former managing editor of The Plain Dealer, Cleveland. The ninth annual contest is a partnership of ASNE and the Associated Press Managing Editors, and will be sponsored this year by the Detroit Free Press, the Plain Dealer and Kent State University, where McGruder earned his undergraduate degree. The deadline for nominations is Friday, Sept. 17 and winners will be announced at the APME convention on Oct.20-22. For more information about the contest and how to apply, click the link below.
