And they're inexpensive, especially if you're an ASNE member or a member of one of our partner organizations. ASNE members who register for the convention will also receive a free pass to the Newseum and a copy of Dave Egger's Panorama newspaper. Eggers will speak at the convention, along with Eric Schmidt, Arianna Huffington and a diverse group of interesting presenters covering a broad spectrum of the news profession.
ASNE is now offering day passes for our annual convention, which will be held in Washington, D.C. on April 11-14.
The ASNE-member and partner rate for day passes range from $100 to $175, depending on the day. There are also special day rates ranging between $50 and $100 for representatives of news organizations that already have an ASNE-member editor registered. The non-member rate for day passes ranges from $150 to $250.
Google CEO Eric Schmidt will be the keynote speaker on Sunday, April 11. A gala reception co-sponsored by Google and the Knight Foundation will follow Mr. Schmidt's speech.
Others scheduled to speak during our NewsNow Idea Summit include David Carr of The New York Times, AP's Tom Curley, Huffington Post founder Arianna Huffington, Yahoo! News honcho Mark Walker, and the editor and author Dave Eggers.
Our focus at the convention will be innovation, collaboration and leadership. The general sessions and workshops will offer practical takeaways for editors facing the enormous challenges now buffeting the news business.
All convention registrants will also receive a free pass to the Newseum and a copy of Dave Egger's newspaper, Panorama.
