Our famous ASNE-IRE leadership workshop is back! "How to Lead Investigations, Nurture Growth, Deliver Excellence" will take place Wednesday, June 13, prior to the 2018 IRE Conference at the Renaissance Orlando at SeaWorld.
Many of America's top news leaders, including Marty Baron, executive editor of The Washington Post, and Mike Klingensmith, publisher and CEO of the Minneapolis Star Tribune, will address the following questions during the workshop:
- How do you foster a culture of excellence for your investigative team and your entire news operation?
- How do you choose where to devote your limited resources to ensure you're working on the most important and impactful stories?
- How do you encourage an entrepreneurial spirit to serve people in new ways and grow your audience?
- How do you find the evidence you need to prove stories beyond a reasonable doubt and dramatically boost their impact?
- How do you ensure you're investigating matters of greatest importance to all the audiences you serve?
The workshop, sponsored by a generous grant from Google, will be valuable to reporters, project editors, news directors and top editors to learn what it takes to create an investigative culture, lead high-impact investigative projects and teams, encourage creative new ways to reach and serve their communities, and help their teams boost their entire operation's audience and engagement.Besides Baron and Klingensmith, presenters include Pulitzer Prize- and Peabody Award-winning reporters, editors and news directors, as well as top journalists from many of our most respected legacy broadcast, print and multimedia news operations.
