ASNE co-sponsors Election Day legal hotline

ASNE is proud to join with the Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press and other major journalism organizations on the election hotline service, which provides legal support to journalists who encounter legal problems while trying to cover election events.

Any reporter in the United States can use the service, regardless of whether that reporter or his/her publication is a member of any of the sponsoring organizations. The Reporters Committee has compiled a network of volunteer attorneys around the country who will be available to answer questions as they arise and might even be able to represent an arrested journalist in court. The service will be free on Election Day. All you need to do is:
