Happy Sunshine Week, everyone! It's off to a great start as numerous organizations created a robust coverage in their Sunday and Monday editions by publishing their local stories, as well as the content from our special Sunshine Week package. In fact, stories from the package appeared on at least 62 front pages. Let's keep up the good work in celebrating the positive impact of open government and access to public information!
If you haven't, please take advantage of the multiple stories, an essay, a graphic and photos in the package by publishing them throughout the week. Two more stories will be posted later this week. Also, the Sunshine Week Toolkit features tons of editorial cartoons and op-eds that you can use to show your support for open government.

Sunshine Week is a national celebration of access to public information that ASNE launched in 2005 to coincide with the March 16 birthday of James Madison, the father of the U.S. Constitution and a key advocate of the Bill of Rights. Since 2012, ASNE has partnered with the Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press to oversee the national coordination of resources and provide support for participants.
