We would like to welcome Mandy Jenkins and Lauren Williams to the ASNE Board of Directors.

Jenkins, news director for Storyful, and Williams, managing editor of Vox.com, have been appointed for one-year terms by ASNE President Pam Fine, Knight Chair in News, Leadership and Community at The University of Kansas. Under our bylaws, the president may choose two members to join the board.

"Mandy and Lauren are terrific leaders with experience in making change and producing quality journalism in multi-platform organizations," Fine said. "We know they'll bring valuable insights to ASNE's efforts to expand membership, improve programming and increase idea-sharing."

Here is more information on Jenkins and Williams:

Mandy Jenkins

Jenkins' previous roles include managing editor for Digital First Media's Project Thunderdome, social news editor for politics at The Huffington Post and social media editor for TBD. She has also served in digital and social news roles for The Cincinnati Enquirer and the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. In addition to serving on the ASNE board, Jenkins is secretary of the ONA Board of Directors.
Lauren Williams

She started her career at the Daily Press in Newport News, Virginia, and worked in a variety of other journalism jobs, from tiny startups to massive Internet companies and venerable print publications, over the years before landing in her current role.

On Oct. 18 at the ASNE-APME conference at Stanford University in Palo Alto, California,
we announced the six newly elected board members and added a new executive committee. With the two appointments and six new members, our 2015-16 Board of Directors has 22 members. Click here to see who they are.
