For two and a half days, the conference was broken down into three key themes: diversity, digital and disruption. We showcased more than 20 innovative and inspiring sessions; four keynote presentations, including two awards luncheons; a digital exhibition featuring innovative startups; and several networking and entertainment activities. We learned, shared and partied together!

On the last day of the conference, Oct. 18, both ASNE and APME installed new presidents -- Pam Fine of The University of Kansas and Laura Sellers of The Daily Astorian, respectively -- as outgoing presidents Chris Peck and Alan Miller completed their terms. New board members were elected, as well, for both organizations. Click here to see ASNE's new board members and here to see APME's new board members.

Most of the presentations will be posted soon at asne.org. In the meantime, we have a couple of stories to share with you that help paint an overall picture of the conference. Read this in-depth story "Newspapers seek Silicon Valley magic" by Rem Rieder of USA TODAY and also this column by Richard Prince of the Maynard Institute for Journalism Education. For more stories, photos and videos on the conference, please visit editors3d15.wordpress.com, an online hub featuring the outstanding coverage by a team of student journalists from Ball State University, Stanford University and San Jose State University.

The
ASNE Minority Leadership Institute Oct. 15-16 at Stanford was a huge success! We thank ASNE Secretary Alfredo Carbajal of Al Dia (The Dallas Morning News) and our wonderful trainer Jill Geisler of Loyola University Chicago for organizing the program to bring emerging news leaders to the next level. Also, thanks to the participants for their hard work in cultivating their leadership skills.

Finally, we'd like to make several shout-outs to those who made the #editors3D conference as smooth and successful as possible. We first thank journalism faculty Juli Metzger of Ball State University, communication faculty Cheryl Phillips of Stanford University and journalism faculty Diane Guerrazzi of San Jose State University, as well as all of their student journalists for covering the conference with various news platforms and tweeting hundreds of times throughout the conference.

We also thank ASNE Stanford Conference Program Committee Chair Robyn Tomlin, managing editor of The Dallas Morning News, and APME Journalism Studies Chair Jim Simon, deputy managing editor of The Seattle Times, for putting together a terrific program. And, of course, we can't thank enough our speakers/panelists and attendees for being part of the conference and making it more valuable than ever.

Finally, our deep appreciation goes to all of our generous sponsors and our wonderful hosts, Director Jim Bettinger and Managing Director Dawn Garcia of the John S. Knight Journalism Fellowships at Stanford. Thank you for making the #editors3D conference possible!

Next year, we will be going back east! See you in September 2016 in Philadelphia. Details coming soon.
