As the ASNE-APME conference at Stanford University (#EDITORS3D) is approaching quickly, we'd like to continue our introductions to some of our generous sponsors. Meet
Robert R. McCormick Foundation, which is committed to fostering communities of educated, informed and engaged citizens. Here is what the foundation would like to share about its journalism program:

McCormick Foundation's Journalism Program began in 1994 to increase civic engagement by strengthening the quality of journalistic content, enabling audiences to become smarter news consumers and protecting press freedoms that promote government accountability. The program combined with the Civics Program in late 2014 to form McCormick Foundation's new Democracy Program, which aims to engage citizenry in the civic and political process by educating people, especially students, to better appreciate the importance of news, the First Amendment and the importance of participating in the civic process. The program is also dedicated to protecting freedoms that align with the Foundation-wide commitment to civic education, access to public information, and good, transparent government.
