Picture Freedom is a nationwide contest for students 13 and older to create and share photos and artwork that illustrate free speech in America on their social media. It begins Feb. 22 and ends Feb. 28.
We ask editors to help promote this First Amendment awareness contest by writing about it, publishing a guest column or placing the contest's media ads in print and/or online. More information is available at 1ForAll.us.
We ask that you continue to help 1 for All promote Picture Freedom, a nationwide scholarship contest to raise awareness of the First Amendment. Students 13 and older are invited to post photos and artwork on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook that celebrate free expression. Sharing makes them eligible to win one of 25 $1,000 scholarships.
You can promote Picture Freedom by writing about it, publishing a guest column or placing the contest's media ads in print and/or online. Everything helps. For more information, visit 1ForAll.us.
The contest will run from Sunday, Feb. 22, to Saturday, Feb. 28, timed to coincide with Scholastic Journalism Week, organized by the Journalism Education Association.
Picture Freedom is supported by the American Society of News Editors, the Journalism Education Association, the John Seigenthaler Chair of Excellence in First Amendment Studies at Middle Tennessee State University, the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, the Newseum Institute's First Amendment Center, and hundreds of teachers and journalists.
