Check out new platform for Community Connection and Inclusion

As we announced last week, the Community Connection and Inclusion project, a partnership between ASNE and Journalism That Matters (JTM), has a new home -- the Engagement Hub. It's a platform to support peer-to-peer learning among people in news organizations who want to connect more authentically with diversity in their communities. As the proof-of-concept takes shape, we plan to reach out to other news outlets, such as public media and online news associations, to join the partnership.

As part of its inaugural work, we are sharing stories a couple of times a week about the project's three pilots:

We'll also be sharing what we learn through these pilots about common questions:

  • What is community engagement?
  • Why do it?
  • How to do it?
  • How do you assess impact?
  • How do you build momentum and scale?

Of course, we want to grow beyond these three sites, so if you have stories to share, contact ASNE's Diversity Committee co-chairs Karen Magnuson at KMAGNUSO@rocheste.gannett.com and Mike Fancher at fanch@mikefancher.com

or JTM Executive Director Peggy Holman at peggy@journalismthatmatters.org.

In the meantime, enjoy these opening stories:
