2014 ASNE/APME Conference registration 

  • We announced last Thursday that registration is open for the ASNE/APME joint conference Sept. 15-17 at the Hyatt Regency in Chicago.
  • The conference will begin at 1 p.m. CDT Monday, Sept. 15, and conclude about 3 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 17.
  • Theme: ASNE/APME 2014: Fast Forward
  • If you're a member of ASNE, register by April 4 to receive the special rate of $199. Members of APME can register at apme.comMake your hotel reservation by Aug. 29 for $189/night.

Sunshine Week a rousing success

Training partnership with Poynter  

  • As we announced Wednesday, this multi-year training alliance will provide four webinars, created by The Poynter Institute, that meet the needs of ASNE members and the challenges of a rapidly changing news and journalism landscape. 
  • The training will be delivered through Poynter's News University interactive online learning platform.
  • Webinars will be free to ASNE members and offered at affordable rates to nonmembers.

Hacking conference at University of Texas-Austin 

  • The Hacking News Leadership conference will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 3, and conclude about noon Sunday, May 4.
  • Registration is open until April 11. Book your hotel room online

Health reporting fellowship deadline extended 

  • You still have time to apply for ICFJ's Community Health Reporting Fellowship, which is designed to help U.S. journalists and bloggers who cover minority, low-income and rural communities. 
  • Apply by Monday, March 31.
