Convention: That's a wrap!

It was a pretty terrific ASNE Convention by most accounts -- if we do say so ourselves.

Over three days, we listened to 25 inspiring speakers and panels.

We heard from Twitter CEO Dick Costolo and Sen. Marco Rubio, from Sandy Rowe and Jill Abramson, and from Kathleen Carroll and James Rosen.

We were blown away by the 42 high school students we met at the JCamp reception. They peppered us with questions; handed out business cards; and, all in all, left us hopeful and inspired about the future of journalism.

Congratulations to the Asian American Journalists Association's 13th class of multicultural high-schoolers!

We were thrilled to hold the ASNE/API Minority Leadership Institute, made up of 16 highly regarded and motivated leaders at news organizations around the country.

And we were thrilled to install David Boardman, executive editor of the Seattle Times, as the new ASNE president.

Panels and speakers were covered at various points by The Associated Press, Roll Call, The Washington Post, the Washington Examiner, The Poynter Institute, Politico, C-Span, CNN, Fox, CBS, the University of Maryland and University of Missouri journalism students, and more.

Rem Rieder, newly named media editor of USA TODAY, wrote this for the publication: "The change in mood at this year's ASNE convention as opposed to many in the recent past is striking. The deer-in-the-headlights panic is gone. There is a sense that a corner has been turned. Executives, at long last, seem to sense that the digital era offers opportunities as well as challenges. And many seem to be embracing them."

Thank you to those of you who attended. For those of you who didn't? Well, there's always next year. Maybe in September? Maybe in Chicago? Hope to see you there!

We will post videos of every panel and speaker over the next week or so.
