Former ASNE President Robert P. Clark has died

Clark served as the president of the American Society of News Editors from 1985 to 1986.
ASNE offers its sincerest condolences to the family and friends of Robert P. Clark, a former president of the society, who died on February 28, 2013, in Hudson, Ohio.
A World War II veteran, Clark graduated from Tufts University in 1942 and earned his master's degree from the Missouri School of Journalism in 1948. His career in the newspaper industry spanned 38 years, 30 of which were spent at papers in Louisville, Ky. He was named Editor of the Year by the National Press Photographers Association in 1967, and he served as president of ASNE from 1985 to 1986.
In his retirement, Clark was an avid photographer -- many of his photos were published in magazines and calendars and featured at photography shows. At the time of his death, he was a member of the First Congregational Church in Hudson.
Clark's wife of 62 years, Jeanne Orr Rice Clark, died in 2011. He is survived by two daughters, two granddaughters and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
