Run house ads for the Free Spirit Scholarship and Journalism Conference

Fifty-one high school students will be selected to attend and receive $1,000 college scholarships.
Fifty-one high school students -- one from each of the 50 states and Washington, D.C. -- will soon be selected to receive an all-expenses-paid trip to attend this year's Al Neuharth Free Spirit Scholarship and Journalism Conference. The conference will be held July 13-18 at the Newseum in Washington, D.C. Each student will also receive a $1,000 scholarship toward his or her college education.

The Freedom Forum funds the conference and scholarships, which are designed to encourage students to pursue journalism. Students who are high school juniors in the 2012-2013 school year are eligible to apply.

Please consider helping the Freedom Forum identify interested high school juniors by running house ads for the program. The ads, along with a press release and a flier describing the conference, can be found at
freespirit.org. If you run house ads, please notify the administrators with a short e-mail to info@freespirit.org so they can list you on the website and in the conference program as a supporter.

The deadline for applying, originally Feb. 15, is being extended by several weeks in all states.
