Knight News Challenge to begin next week

This round of the contest focuses on open government and begins Feb. 12.
The Knight News Challenge, a contest that rewards media innovation by funding breakthrough ideas in news and information, will launch Tuesday, Feb. 12.
This round of the competition will focus on open government, particularly ideas that facilitate easier interaction between citizens and their elected officials. The contest will coincide with Sunshine Week, an open government initiative launched by ASNE in 2005. This year's Sunshine Week will take place March 10-16.

A total of $5 million will be used to support the Knight News Challenge's winning projects. Winners will be announced in June. For more information or to submit an entry, click here.
